The Original Ending
When I first started writing the novel I had two endings planned out in my head, the one which I would end up using for the script and this one:
Having thought that the Script Ending was illogical, which at the time it was I had my sights set on a much more possible ending. It would have gone something like this:
General Connor: I suppose every battle must have a conclusion but as it so happens this battles conclusion is also its beginning. Against all our efforts, all the hard fought Resistance battles, and most disparingly against all odds we were unable to alter the path time had so doggedly set.
EXT: Camera moves over a wasteland of silence massive killing machines stopped in their tracks, fallen Units and Airial H/K's dot the landscape.
General Connor: I had hoped that we could breach Skynets Core a day before the original attack had managed. However we breached Skynets' inner sanctum just in time to witness the psychopathic computer sending back the Original Terminator. I knew then even as we prepared to blow Skynet to hell that in the end nothing had changed.
INT: The Time Displacment Chamber, cold ,alien built and made for machines and their own nefarious uses.
General Connor: In the end there was no choice, I would have to ask for someone to go back, even though I already knew who would respond. I'd have to send him even though...he would die, to save the future.
Show REESE gelled for Time Travel step into the rings-they rotate faster and faster-
General Connor: But would anything change or would the same things happen over and over again. Is time like an unbroken Mobious Strip, curling back to its' place of origin, never changing. No, I cannot and will not allow myself to believe that, there has to be a way to change things. Even if the same acts take place hundreds of times, sooner or later there will be a new outcome. Whether Skynet likes it or not one day I will destroy it, and I will never give up that hope.
Show Rings CYCLE in a blur, then flash boom nothing-
